Not every post needs to be a reel or seven-slide carousel!
Somewhere along the way, posting on socials became a full production. A hook, a carousel, B-roll, trending audio, on-screen text, and then somehow you’re supposed to do all of this while running an actual business.
The irony? I manage social media for a living, but by the time I get to my own account, my tank can feel pretty empty too.
If you’re tired of serving your customers, handling the admin, growing your business, AND keeping up on Instagram, I get it. Social media is only one part of your business, but it can easily become another part-time job.
Newsflash: Your Content Doesn’t Need to Be Complicated
So, for real. Let’s normalize posting one good photo again.
Not every post needs to be a Reel or seven-slide carousel. A single photo with a useful caption can still:
Answer a common customer question
Share a recent project
Offer one helpful tip
Show the person behind your business
Remind people how they can work with you
Most people aren’t analyzing your content as closely as you are. They’re scrolling between work, school pickup, and figuring out dinner. They see your post, remember what you do, and keep you in mind for later.
That matters.
Build a Plan You Can Actually Maintain
You don’t need to post every day or use every new Instagram feature. You need a simple plan that helps the right people understand what you do, trust your work, and remember you when they need it.
If carousels are easy, double down on them! If you are a b-roll queen, just keep those reels coming. If you only want to post once a week, great! That’s way better than not posting at all for long periods of time.
Just see what feels right for you. And, you know if you need help figuring this sort of thing out, I’m here!
